Our 1990 Grimaldi made its debut with Brisbane’s Badinerie Players in the first Australian original instrument performances of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. It was then chosen by Christopher Hogwood for The Australian Opera’s production of Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito. From 2004, the Grimaldi had a permanent home at Melbourne’s Melba Memorial Conservatorium of Music, returning to our hire fleet five years later. The Grimaldi has been used by overseas ensembles including Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Concerto Italiano, Il Giardino Armonico, Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop and Tafelmusik, and has featured in several national tours of the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
