The recording industry in Australia may only be small—especially for the “Classical” product—but in the table below and on the detailed pages grouped together in this section of the website, you can find most of the film and audio projects we have participated in.
Many genres and styles are represented, from harpsichord with didjeridu (in which I played the harpsichord myself—believed to be the first Australian harpsichordist released on CD) through rock and chamber music to complete live opera productions.
It has been a distinct privilege to provide instruments and services to groups as diverse and prominent as the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Ironwood, Opera Australia, Pinchgut Opera, Salut! baroque or silverchair, released on everything ranging from private labels, through stalwarts of the Australian classical music industry like ABC Classics, Melba or Tall Poppies, to international labels like BIS or EMI. (A complete listing of record companies with at least some focus on early music can be found on the appropriate links page.)
I remain very grateful to the musicians and companies who kindly remember to provide a copy of the finished product—quite a challenge as the recordings are sometimes assembled over a considerable period of time, with the commercial release in some instances coming years after the initial tracks were laid down. The information here is as complete as possible. Further details and often a sound byte can be found on each individual release page: Click the number in the left column of the table, or use the back and forward arrows found at the top right of each item page.
